Charles A. Dolejs Charles A. Dolejs, 86, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012. He was born Sept. 20, 1925, in Chicago, Ill., to Charles and Clara Dolejs. He graduated from Crane Tech High School, Chicago in 1943. Charles served in the Army Air Corps as an aviation cadet during World War II. After the war, he attended the Illinois Institute of Technology, graduating in 1950, with a degree in civil engineering. It was during this time that he met the beautiful Constance Olson, whom he would marry in September of 1950, and shared their adventure the next 62 years. After graduating from lIT he would spend 35 years working for UOP in Des Plaines, retiring in 1986. In retirement, Charles was an avid bike rider, often biking 15+ miles a day, which was somewhat remarkable in that he had both his knees replaced. He enjoyed teaching bridge to his children and grandchildren, but it always seemed that he was the winner. He is survived by his loving wife, Constance; three children, twins, Robert (Dee) and Ronald (Christine), and Dawn (Bruce); nine grandchildren, Travis, Monika, Allison, Andrew, Scott, Sarah, Natalie, Andrew and Brian; and three great-grandchildren, Wesley, Oliver and Ben. Interment is pending at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Charles, will be held at a later date. Contributions in his memory may be made to the .
