Christine "Krysia" Bender of Schaumburg Christine "Krysia" Bender (nee Wielgut), was the beloved wife of Lucian; loving mother of Lucia Shillington, Wes (Pam) Bender, Lila (Steve) Bavaro, Lisa (Keith) Simon and Lenny (Linda) Bender; cherished Babcia of Kendra, Wesley, Alaina, Kirk, Danny, Bradley, Ayrielle, Selena, Derek, Trent, Alex, Samantha, Drew, Grant and Holly; great-grandBabcia of Matthew, Maci and Victoria; sweet sister; darling Ciocia; and dear friend of many. Christine was born Jan. 21, 1935, in Poland, and passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family after a two and a half year battle with cancer. Christine had a loving caring passion for her grandchildren, her flower gardens, and her art of photography. Krysia was the cherished matriarch of a family who love her with all their hearts. She will be deeply missed by all. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 330 W. Golf Road, Schaumburg. Funeral services will be Thursday, with 10:15 a.m. prayers at the funeral home, proceeding to St. Hubert Catholic Church, 729 Grand Canyon St., Hoffman Estates, for an 11 a.m. Mass.
