Christine S. "Chris" Lang of South Elgin Christine S. "Chris" Lang, 66, passed away peacefully surounded by her family on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Delnor Community Hospital, Geneva, IL. She was born on Nov. 30, 1946, in Elgin IL, the daughter of Clarence C. and Helen E. (nee Cheperka) Otte. Chris had worked at Leewards for 20 years and retired from Elgin Community College in 2011. She was a Collegian of the Woman of the Moose, Elgin Chapter, #610. Survivors include her husband, Ken Lang of South Elgin, whom she married on Nov. 6, 1970; three daughters, Colleen Lang of South Elgin, Cindy (Niklas) Krueger of Hampshire, IL and Robyn Lang of Marengo, IL; her granddaughter, Alexis Nikole "Beanie Baby" Krueger; three brothers, Eugene Otte, Wayne (Barbara) and Michael (Penny) Otte; three sisters, Donna Otte, Marilyn (Melvin) Wille and Patricia VanAcker, her sister-in-law, Joan Otte; along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Robert Otte; and a brother-in-law, Lawrence VanAcker. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 11, at 10 a.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St. (Route 31), Elgin. Burial will follow at Bluff City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 3 to 8 p.m., with the Woman of the Moose College of Regents memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Moose Charities.
