Obituary Condolences

Dave Ayres Makeever Dave A. Makeever, 81, died peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday April 16, 2013 watched over by Midwest Care Hospice and his loving, caring Moorings staff. Dave is survived by his loyal wife of 55 years, Pat; his caring daughter, Susan L. DeBrocke and her husband, Rob of Sun City West, AZ; and his loving son Daniel W. Makeever and his wife, Laura and their three children, Alex 15, Jason 13, and Emily 11 of Gurnee, IL. He is also survived by his younger brother, Dr. Lyn C. Makeever of Rockford, IL and his wife, Jan and their extended family; and by his brother-in-law, Montgomery May of Ithaca, NY and his wife, Eleanor, and their extended family. Dave had a successful 33-year career with Harris Trust & Savings Bank in Chicago, IL and retired in 1990 as as a Senior VP. He was also a life member and past president of the Chicago Chapter of credit bankers in Robert Morris Associates. Dave sang tenor in the First Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir for many years, and also participated in the Men's Chorus. As a long-time member of the 6:30 AM Monday men's Bible Study, he will be remembered for his careful, well-researched presentations. Many people will remember Dave from the NW Health & Wellness Center for his almost daily workouts and dedication to fitness. Dave was loved and respected by many hundreds of friends from various walks of life. A joyful memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 302 N. Dunton Ave., Arlington Heights on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 10:30 AM.
