Obituary Condolences

Earle Herbert Courter Earle Herbert Courter, born Feb. 5, 1927, to Charles Earle and Charlotte Courter in North Caldwell, N.J., passed away surrounded by his devoted family on July 27, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Edwin and sister, Phyllis; and beloved mother-in-law, Annie Moore McCumsey. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 63 years, Anne Courter. He was the loving father of David (Liz) Courter, Debbie (Ted) Wagner, Craig (Jan) Courter and Wendy (Larry) Schlosser; cherished grandfather of Ben, Laura, Bob, Kate, Beth, Dani, Chris, Brandon, Lawren, Zac and James; and proud great-grandfather of JD, Ella, Ava, Mackenzie, Teddy, Christopher and Xander. Earle served in the U.S. Army in World War II in the European Theater and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a member of Gary Memorial United Methodist Church, Silvertones, West Suburban Choral Union and Life Member of VFW Post 5412. He was a good neighbor and friend to many in his church and community. A memorial service will be held on Aug. 25, at 11 a.m. at Gary Memorial United Methodist Church, 224 N. Main St., Wheaton. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to Gary Memorial United Methodist Church.
