1930 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Elizabeth C. "Betty" C. Banks, age 83, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at home. She was born Feb. 20, 1930, in Chicago. Betty was active at the Prospect Heights Baptist Church, the Arlington Heights Evangelical Free Church and more recently at Wheaton Bible Church. She was known for her love for God and family, her hospitality, her famous gingersnap cookies, and her support and care of missionaries. She is survived by her husband, Robert A. Banks; four children, Ellen (James) Elwell, David (Alice) Banks, Gail (Richard) Pflederer, and Barbara (Jordon) Korell; her 10 grandchildren, Chad Elwell, Nathan (Brit) Elwell, Jordan Elwell, Nicholas (JaiMee) Banks, Anna Banks, Brent Pflederer, Sarah Pflederer, Brittany (Erik) Heard, Aleena Korell, and Janine Korell; and three great-grandchildren, Jensen Elwell, Bella Elwell, and Riley Banks. She was preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 8, from 1-2 p.m. at Wheaton Bible Church, 27W500 North Ave., West Chicago, where a funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Scott Phelps officiating. Visitation will continue after the service from 3-4 p.m. Memorial gifts may be directed to Moody Bible Institute, 820 N.
