Obituary Condolences

Eric Henry Bublitz Eric Henry (Koenig) Bublitz, 68, passed away peacefully at Journeycare in Barrington, June 5, 2013. Eric is survived by his loving wife, Sharon, of 46 years, Daughter, Erika Michelle (Dana), Son, Eric Shawn (Cindy), grandchildren Eric Henry, Justin Matthew, and Ava Elizabeth. He is predeceased by mother, Juliette, sister, Geraldine and brother Sonny. Eric leaves behind one loyal, loving brother David (Joanne), nieces, Jenelle (Brian) and Stephanie and nephews Austin and Timmy. Eric was born in Des Plaines, graduated from Arlington Heights High School. He served in the 101st Airborne Division as Spc. 4 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He became a Rolling Meadows Policeman for a few years, and then went into the construction industry for many years thereafter. Eric was very involved with his village and volunteered for many years in fundraising, bridge and road improvements and was very instrumental in the development of the new additions to the Village of Port Barrington and the creation of many of the new ordinances. He served on the Island Lake Sanitary District and many committees in his Village. He was one of the first trustees to serve on the new board in 1969. He served as mayor for 2 years. Eric retired from his occupation as Building Superintendent from McCormick's Place after many faithful years. He leaves behind many wonderful friends. He was an awesome, funny, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother with integrity and love for his family and friends. He was a very special man and will be greatly missed. Eric also leaves behind various other half-siblings. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 12 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, 235 N. Main St., Wauconda. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 13 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
