ERICH O. BREDEHOEFT Obituary
ROSELLE - Erich O. Bredehoeft, 80, formerly of Roselle, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014, in Fort Myers, Florida. Erich was born Jan. 22, 1934, in Emma, Mo. The youngest of 10 siblings, he grew up on a farm and at the age of 14 went away to enroll at Concordia High School and Teachers College in Seward, Neb. At Concordia he found his calling to be a servant of the word through teaching and music. As a career 7th grade Lutheran School teacher, many of those years at Trinity Lutheran School in Roselle, Erich had the fortune to mentor many children. Along with teaching, directing the church choir and playing the church organ were his passions. After retiring and moving to North Fort Myers Florida, Erich continued to play the organ and direct the choir at Messiah Lutheran Church, in Fort Myers Florida. An avid sports fan, his passion for golf reached the pinnacle when he "shot his age" at the age of 78. Erich will always be remembered for his encouraging words, his leadership, and his ability to get the most out of the people that surrounded him. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; his sister, Janet Wilkins; his children, Scott (Tonya) Bredehoeft, Todd (Stacey) Bredehoeft, Jon (Graciella) Bredehoeft and Sara (Joe) Nighswander; along with 7 cherished grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on February 7, at 1:30 p.m., at Messiah Lutheran Church in Fort Myers, Florida.
