1925 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
CARPENTERSVILLE - George M. Boyle Sr., age 88, passed away on Sunday morning, surrounded by his loving wife and son after a courageous battle with cancer. George was born on October 31, 1925, in Chicago, the son of the late Frank and Stella (nee Peacock) Boyle. George was a resident of the Carpentersville area for the past 23 years and a former 26 year employee of Montgomery Wards where he served as MIS Manager. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his beautiful smile. George was a very proud World War II Navy veteran and also served during the Korean War in the United States Army Air Corps/Air Force from 1943-1953. While in the Air Force, he served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater( American area). George was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, the Navy Good Conduct Medal, the Air Force Presidential Unit Citation, the United Nations Service medal, the Korean Service Medal with 3 Battle Stars, and the Korean Presidential Unit Citation. Survivors include his wife of 50 years: Vivian "Vicki" (nee Settler), their son: George Jr. (Lisa) and his grandchildren: George III, and Koryana. George is also survived by his brother-in-law: Russell (Zola) Settler whom he was very fond of, many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless good and faithful friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee from 4-8 PM with Military honors being presented at 7:30 PM. At George's request, he will be cremated.
