Helen Martin-Irwin of Lindenhurst Helen Martin-Irwin, 89, formerly of Joliet and Waukegan, passed away at the Village at Victory Lakes Nursing Center in Lindenhurst on Monday, March 04, 2013. She was born December 3, 1923 in Lockport, IL, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Rose Chuk. Helen lived in Joliet until 1946 when she married her first husband William E. Martin and moved to Waukegan. She remained in Waukegan after William passed away in 1972, and later married William Irwin in 1999. Helen worked at Sears for 25 years and was enthusiastic about crochet and knitting. She is survived by her sons Daniel (Ellen) Martin of Lindenhurst and William (Barbara) Martin of Oregon; siblings Alex (Shirley) Chuk of Arizona and Rosemary (late Robert) Juricic of Connecticut; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands William Martin and William Irwin; and siblings Theodore Chuk, Nicholas Chuk, Samuel Chuk, and Vladimir Chuk. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2013 at Ringa Funeral Home, 122 S. Milwaukee Ave. (Route 83), Lake Villa, IL 60046. Burial will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville. Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
