Obituary Condolences

James F. Whiting of Arlington Heights Visitation for James F. Whiting will be from 5 until 9 p.m. Friday, March 5, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights. The funeral service and interment is private. Born Oct. 22, 1933, in Onset, Mass., to Paul Edward and Gertrude (nee O'Donnell) Whiting, he died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. James graduted from Northeastern University in Boston, Mass. with a degree in chemical engineering. He was the owner and president of the G.R. O'Shea Company since 1982, and the past president of the Chicago Paint and Coatings Association. He enjoyed golfing and boating, and was a member of Horseshoe Bay Golf Club and a former member of the Itasca Country Club. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ann (nee Baldwin), whom he married Sept. 12, 1959 in Akron, Ohio; his children, Tom (Cara) Whiting of Wheaton, David (Juniper) Whiting of Iowa City, Iowa and Elizabeth (Nate) Troia of Wheaton; his grandchildren, Luci, Gillian, Charlotte, Kyla, Quinn, Violet, Isabel, Emily, and Ava; and his brother, Paul Edward Jr. (June) Whiting of Norwood, Mass.
