JESSIE L. JONES Obituary
Jessie L. Jones Jessie L. Jones, 65, passed away on March, 19, 2013 at Presence St. Joseph's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, friends and Pastors Dexter and Shaunna Ball. Born August 30, 1947 in Jackson, Tennessee to Robert & Mattie Jones. Jessie married the love of his life, Colleen (Walsh) on November 18, 1984 and they have sons, Jesse Jr. (Janelle), Sourou (Angela) and Kevin (Patricia), Tony, and their daughter Zoe. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Corinne, Devin, Jasmyne, Jay Q, Sourou Ali, Syre, Silas and Jesse III; his brothers and sisters, Linda, Robert (Mamie); Patricia (Joe) & James; 3 sister-in-laws, Sharon (Bobby), Julie & Jamie, brother in-law Bobby. As well as many faithful & loving Aunts, Uncles, Nieces , Nephews, friends, and especially his beloved friend Dexter Ball. Jessie was preceded in death, most recently, by his niece, Justine. Jessie was a devoted Christian who spent his days serving God with his all. He was remembered fondly as "The Dancing Deacon". He surely will be greeted in his Heavenly Home with acknowledgement of "Well Done My Good And Faithful Servant." Jessie was the proud, faithful and dedicated Head Deacon at Faithwalk Harvest Center. Jessie lived his life loving people and people loved him, he had a heart of gold and his most proud moments were seeing how strong and accomplished his sons have become, and the aspiring young woman his daughter Zoe is. Grandpa Jessie also loved and adored his precious grandchildren. For 25 years Jessie worked in the Insurance Sales business. He happily retired about 2 years ago and spent his retirement playing golf and spending time with his family. He served as commissioner of the Elgin Housing Authority for 14 years. He was an avid sports fan, he loved his Chicago Bears and Bulls (and attended several games with his daughter.) You might have even seen him on TV singing "My Girl" during half-time. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until the time of his Home Going Service at 7:00 pm. Monday, March 25, To be held at Faithwalk Harvest Center, 400 Maple Avenue, Carpentersville, IL. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children's Ministry at Faithwalk Harvest Center, PO Box 771, Carpentersville, IL 60110.
