John J. Kane John J. Kane was the loving husband of the late Mary (nee Jobst); dear father of James (the late Mary P.), Peggy (Ray) Bandemer, Mary Kay (Mark) Larson, John (Karen) and Rita (Dave) Keener; grandfather of Nicole (Jon), Mark (Chris), Michael (Amy), Jackie (Zach), Marc, Jake, Kevin, Westin, Scott, Katie and Maddy; great-grandfather of Mary and Brody; and brother of Mary Rita (the late Joe) McGuire, Joan (Neil) McLoughlin and Don (Gayle) Kane. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eileen and John Kane; his sisters, Norberta and Dolores (Ken); and his daughter-in-law, Mary P. Kane. John was a carpenter at Arlington Park Race Track for 20 years. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. Prayers will be said at 9 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home, proceeding to St. Theresa Catholic Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.
