John Paul Sheetz John Paul Sheetz was born April 16, 1917, in Benton County, IN, and passed away on Dec. 1, 2012. Paul was a captain in the 923rd Division Field Artillery, World War II. He was an All-American football player for Xavier University in Cincinnati. He graduated from St. Ignatius College Prep in Chicago, IL and was inducted into the High School Hall of Fame. He retired as a salesman for Photopress, Inc. after 50 years. Paul was an avid golfer, loved playing football, but mostly loved his wife of 66 years, Peggy. Married Nov. 30, 1946, to Margaret "Peggy" O'Brien, he was the beloved father of nine, Mike Sheetz, Mary Ellen (Michael) Rasmussen, Pat (Carol) Sheetz, Kathy Sheetz, Maureen (Dave) Hemmerling, Margaret (Bill) Finn, Joe (Valerie) Sheetz, Anne Sheetz and Terrie Kram; loving grandfather of 21; great- grandfather of 21; great-great-grandfather of one with another on the way; and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Sheetz; and five brothers, Jim, Art, John, Al and Gordon. Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 5, from 4 until 8 p.m., with prayers and decade of the Rosary at 5 p.m. at the Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, 403 Silver Lake Road, Cary. A funeral Mass will be Thursday, at 10 a.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Church, 410 First St., Cary. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Masses may be made to SS. Peter & Paul Church, Cary, IL. For information, 847-639-3817.
