SISTER JULIANNE DIEBOLD Obituary
Sister Julianne Diebold, 1920 - 2017, a Wheaton Franciscan Sister. Sr. Julianne Diebold at age 95, breathed into the fullness of God January 2, 2017 at the Wheaton Franciscan Motherhouse in Wheaton, IL. She entered the Franciscan order in 1951 and professed perpetual vows in 1957. She is preceded in death by her parents Margaret (Ressel) and Denis Diebold, her sisters Susan, Mary (Sr. Flora), Brigitta Toler, Caroline Seiler, Philomene Buhs, and Josephine (Sr. Denise), and brothers Albert, George, Anton, and Andrew. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Sr. Julianne served as a seamstress and fabric artist in our missions in Racine and Milwaukee, Wisconsin as well as in Waterloo, Iowa and Wheaton, Illinois. She lovingly cared for sisters in her service as Assistant Directress and Community Coordinator in both Milwaukee and Wheaton. Everywhere she companioned others with a large heart and wise smile with a twinkle in her eye. She had one desire: to be a manifestation of our loving God. And thus lived Sr. Julianne Diebold in her relationships with the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary and the hearts of everyone that she engaged throughout her almost 96 years of life. A prayer and wake service will be held on Tuesday beginning at 4 p.m. at the Our Lady of Angels Convent, 26W171 Roosevelt Rd., Wheaton, IL 60187. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. also at the convent. Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton, IL. Information, 630-668-0016 or www.williams-kampp.com.
