KENNETH WILLERT Obituary

Kenneth E. Willert of Mount Prospect since 1952 The funeral service for Kenneth E. Willert will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 100 S. School St., Mount Prospect, where he will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Road (at Northwest Highway), Mount Prospect. Born May 7, 1922, in Milwaukee, Wis., he passed away Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. Mr. Willert was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, serving in radar. Graduate of Northwestern University . He was a retired programmer in the accounting department of U.S. Gypsum. Then he was office manager of George L. Busse Real Estate. He was an avid golfer and a member for more than 50 years of the Twilite Golf League at the Mount Prospect Golf Course. He also bowled in several local leagues. At St. Paul Lutheran Church he was involved in the financial end of Church, an usher and sang in the Church Choir. Kenneth was the beloved husband of Ruth L. Willert (nee Giljohann) for 64 years; loving father of Kathleen (Dan) Stark of La Grande, Ore., Alan (Susan) Willert of Phoenix, Ariz. and Gary (Lisa) Willert also of Phoenix; devoted grandfather of Todd (Amy) Stark, Tana (Derek) Kurfurst and Eric (Amy) Stark, Raquel Willert and Matthew Willert, Kevin Willert, Anne Willert and Laura Willert; dear brother-in-law of Erwin Giljohann of Fergus Falls, Minn. and Juanita Willert of Oconomowoc, Wis.; and cherished great-grandfather of seven.
