Marie L. Derwinski a resident of Naperville Marie L. Derwinski, 94, formerly of Country Club Hills, Ill., died Wednesday, April 4, 2012. She was born Jan. 19, 1918, in Chicago, Ill. She was the daughter of the late Peter and Constance (nee Labuc) Derwinski; sister of Frances Johnson of Kankakee, and the late Hipolit, Anthony and Felix; aunt of Dorothy Christiansen, Mary Derwinski, William, Gregory and Jerome Johnson, Mary Olsen, Maureen Thompson, Andrew Derwin and the late Dennis Derwinski; and great-aunt and great-great aunt of many. Marie graduated from Loyola University and St. Xavier University and earned two master's degrees. She taught for many years at South Shore High School in Chicago and helped found the Beta Psi Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society. She was a world traveler and fluent in French, Polish and Spanish. Visitation will be Friday, April 13, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, Naperville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, April 14, at 9:30 a.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Naperville. Graveside services Saturday, at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City.
