Marilyn Sally Lee Marilyn Sally Lee, daughter of Clarence P. and Margaret A. Lee of Denver, Colo., and Chicago, died peacefully April 14, 2012, after a short illness. She was born May 31, 1930, and grew up in the Edison Park area of Chicago. After attending Ebinger Elementary School and Taft High School, she graduated from Illinois State University. For 40 years, from 1952 to 1992, she taught third and fourth grades at Lowrie Elementary School in Elgin, where she had many loyal friends among the faculty. She loved music and opera and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra. She volunteered at the Gail Borden Public Library and was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Elgin. She was predeceased by her much-loved sisters, Dorothy Lee McDavid and Virginia Ann Lee of Fort Collins, Colo. She Is survived by her nephew, Russell McDavid of Fort Collins, Colo.; nieces, Sally Lee McDavid of Palatine, Ill., and Lee Ann McDavid of Norwich, Vt.; a grandniece and three grandnephews; and devoted friends, James and Christine Jackson and their daughter, Lindsey. On Tuesday, April 17, a vIsitation hour prior to a memorial service will be held from 12:30 to 1:3O p.m. at the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin. A memorial service led by the Rev. Robert Sathuri will begin at 1:30 p.m. A private family memorial will be held at a later date in Denver, Colo., where she chose to be laid to rest beside her parents, sisters and other family members. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, the Gail Borden Public Library and the First United MethodIst Church of Elgin.
