Obituary Condolences

Michael John Dukewich of Rolling Meadows Michael John Dukewich, 58, passed away unexpectedly, on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at home. Michael "Duke" was born on Aug. 22, 1954, in Chicago, IL. He graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1972, and received his degree at Florida International University in 1976. Following in his father, John Dukewich's footsteps, Mike went on to become an award-winning cameraman for ABC Channel 7 News. For 35 years, Mike was a proud and committed member of the Chicago News Team, showing his true passion for his craft in every story he covered. Mike enjoyed golfing and was a gifted storyteller; always lighting up a room and raising peoples spirits. One of his greatest joys was watching his son, Clay play football at Fremd High School. He was the beloved husband of Christy (Poston) Dukewich; father of Clay Dukewich; son of Carol and the late John Dukewich; brother of Sandra Andrews and Nancy Dukewich; son-in-law of Sue (Dan) Walton and Gene (Lisa) Poston; brother-in-law of Carrie and Scott Woodruff, and Candace and Jeff Matthers; and uncle of Dawn Diliberto, Anna and Dana Sedgwick, Al Michael Velasco and Olivia Woodruff. Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 3, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Road (½ block east of Route 53), Rolling Meadows, IL 60008. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Greater Chicago Food Depository, 4100 W. Ann Lurie Place, Chicago, IL 60632 or the college fund for Clayton Dukewich.
