Midori Yamamoto Midori Yamamoto, 93, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2012, after six months of home hospice care. She was born in 1918, in Walnut Grove, Calif. and married Harry Yamamoto in Salinas, Calif. in 1942. Later in 1942, she and her husband were interned in Poston, Ariz., where her son, Glenn, was born in 1943. The family relocated to Chicago, where daughter, Joyce, was born in 1944. She raised her family in Chicago, and worked as a seamstress in their family owned dry cleaning business. She spent her later years in Skokie and Palatine. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry in 1976. She is survived by her brother, Gary (Aggie) Hirotsu; her son, Glenn (Linda) Yamamoto; daughter, Joyce (Ronald) Yoshino; grandsons, Michael (Kimberly) Yamamoto and Brian Yamamoto; granddaughters, Christina (Deron) Klubertanz and Jamie (David) Swanson; great-grandsons, Joshua, Brandon, Brady and Bryson Yamamoto; and great-granddaughter, Lia Midori Swanson. Visitation will be at Lakeview Funeral Home, 1458 W. Belmont, Chicago, on Sunday, April 29, from 3 to 5 p.m. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 5 p.m. An alternate service will be held on Tuesday, May 1, at Holy Family Parish, 2515 W. Palatine Road, Inverness, Ill., where visitation will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., followed by a Mass at 6:30 p.m. For information, 773-472-6300.
