NORMA M. SWITZER Obituary
Norma M. Switzer Norma Mae Switzer, 84, of Pekin, Ill., entered into rest at 5:35 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Pekin Hospital. Born June 13, 1928, in South Pekin, to Henry William and Golda Mae (nee Blakley) Harberts, she married Jake Alfred Switzer on March 13, 1950, in Pekin. He died June 29, 2007 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by one son, Robert Switzer; one granddaughter, Jillian Switzer; two sisters, Susan Lopez and Katherine Duthorn and one brother, Henry Harberts. Surviving are five sons, Jake Jr. (Sue) Switzer of Bloomingdale, John (Jackie) Switzer of Mesa, Ariz., David Switzer of Elgin, Thomas Switzer of Elizabethtown, Ky. and Sam (Monica) Switzer of Maricopa, Ariz.; three daughters, Merilee Switzer of Pekin, Sandra (Kevin) Boeldt of Spirit Lake, Idaho and Joan (Mark) Wharton of Mesa, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Laborn of Forreston. Norma had worked for the United States Postal Service in Franklin Park. She had served in the distribution and dispatch centers for the postal service. She also had waitressed in Pekin and Roselle for many years. She was a former member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and served as an election judge in Roselle for 15 years. She also had enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Cremation will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. No services or visitation are planned. Private burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. Memorial contributions may be made to for the Pekin , 4234 N.
