RALPH J. NOVAK Sr. Obituary
Ralph J. Novak Sr., 79, of South Elgin passed away on Monday, November 4, 2013 with his family at his side after a valiant six year fight with cancer. He was born July 19, 1934. Ralph was survived by his wife, Lois Novak, and sons Ralph (Butch) Novak, Jr. (Juli) of South Elgin, IL and Randy Novak (Julie) of St. Charles IL. Ralph had four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Ralph is also survived by his step-brother Jim, who he was so proud to call "my brother." Ralph was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Korea. On November 11, 1953, days before leaving for Korea, he married his wife Lois, and they were inseparable for nearly 60 years. Ralph was employed in the printing industry most of his career, as a partner at Padlo, Novak & Trush print shop in Chicago, and later as an employee at TCR Graphics in Streamwood. The love and support of family and friends, and his little buddy, Dudley, kept him going during his 6 year battle with cancer. Special thanks go out to all of the doctors, nurses, EMTs and grocery store clerks who treated him as if he was family. We are eternally grateful. Per Ralph's wishes, there will be no formal visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, please thank a veteran, adopt a homeless pet, make a donation to the or https://www.causes.com/campaigns/41244-raise-funds-for-lung-cancer-research, and raise a toast in his honor. Laird Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 847-741-8800 or www.lairdfamilyfuneralservices.com.
