Obituary Condolences

Robert A. Sistko of Huntley Robert A. Sistko, 80, died peacefully at home on July 7, 2013. Visitation will be held on Friday July 12 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm with a memorial service at 5:00 pm at DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Bob was born the son of Andrew and Pauline Sestko. He served Honorably in the United States Air Force and earned a Masters Degree from George Williams College. He was happily married to Shirley for over 60 years. Bob taught PE, history, art and coached football and softball at Rolling Meadows. He was known for his wit, generous nature, and acute insight of the human condition. Bob excelled in a diverse range of endeavors including baseball and football, painting, boating, fishing, and military history. He greatly enjoyed reading, opera, and crossword puzzles. Above all else, he loved being in the company of his family. Bob is survived by his wife and three sons, Robert J. (Lynne) Sistko, Joseph S. (Lezlie) Sistko, Mark A. (Linda) Sistko. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nichole, Katie, Tara, Anna, Aaron, Andy, Mike, Alex and Nick, and by 7 great-grandchildren. Bob rose from an environment of adverse challenges to serve as a model of personal responsibility and accomplishment. He is remembered as a warm friend, adoring husband, loving father and grandfather. He touched the lives of all his family and remains a loving influence for all.
