ROBERTA L. GANSEN Obituary
Roberta L. Gansen of Geneva Roberta L. Gansen, 53, passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva. She was born May 4, 1959, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Robert and Patricia (nee Kuse) Yelden. Roberta was born and raised in Dubuque, IA, graduating from Hempstead High School in 1977. She married her high school sweetheart, Timothy in October of 1982, and they moved to the Chicago area first settling in Des Plaines, then moving to Elk Grove Village, Carol Stream and eventually making their home in Geneva. Roberta worked as a human resources generalist for Porsche Financial Services in Lisle, until she retired in 2006. She also enjoyed sewing and was a great cook. Roberta's greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Timothy; two daughters, Lindsey and Lauren; parents, Robert and Patricia Yelden of Dubuque, IA; siblings, Debbie (Richard) Martin of Flagstaff, AZ, Beatrice Bonk of Hanover Park, Georgia (Jack) Pittman of Davenport, FL, John (Tina) Yelden of Peosta, IA, Patrick (Billie Jo) Yelden of Poinciana, FL, Kathy (Dean) Mausser of Holy Cross, IA and Tony (Andrea) Yelden of Cedar Rapids, IA; and in-laws, Francis and Joyce Gansen of IA. She is also survived by many relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 410 N. Cross St., Wheaton, with Rev. Marcus Nelson officiating. Burial will be held Monday, Jan. 14, at Linwood Cemetery in Dubuque, IA. Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State St. (Route 38), Geneva, and at the church on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
