Obituary Condolences

Roger A. Johnson of Arlington Heights Roger A. Johnson, 80, passed away Tuesday, July 03, 2012, in Arlington Heights. He was born in Chicago, on Feb. 12, 1932. Roger dedicated over 35 years of service as a design engineer at Bell & Howell Co. of Chicago. He was also a member of the Pioneer Club, where he was able to enjoy the companionship of his fellow workers. He also had a passion for photography his whole life. You could always find him behind his camera, taking pictures of his family and friends. Roger was happiest spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved them all dearly. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, whom he adored and was blessed to have by his side for 54 years. He was the devoted father to three daughters, Karen (Jeff) Aumuller, Sharon (Keith) Boron and Valerie Rainbolt. He is also survived by grandchildren, Parker, Jake, Kendall, Stefan and Amber; brother, Warren (Sherry) Johnson; sister-in-law, Norma (Jim) Mallard; brother-in-law, Paul (Laureen) Kimbrough and brother-in-law, the late Don Kimbrough. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Florence Johnson and sister, LaVerne Johnson. Visitation is Thursday, 4 to 8 p.m. at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Road (at Northwest Highway), Mount Prospect. Services are Friday, 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
