Obituary Condolences

Ronald J. Lungren Ronald J. Lungren went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 15, 2013. Ron was born Mach 20, 1949 to Robert and Mary Jane (Fredericks) Lungren. He was a United States Marine Corps/Air Wing veteran and served his country proudly during the Viet Nam war. Ron was a professional truck driver, owner operator of R.J. Lungren Trucking for many years. He also taught professional truck driving at Elgin Community College as well as being a safety administrator for two local trucking companies, and a licensed Real Estate Agent. He was active in many committees at St. Mary and St. Joseph Churches in Elgin. He participated in the Big Brother program, "Y" Little Braves, Kane County ESDA, Friends of Trout Park, Fox Valley Court Watchers, and the St. Charles Jaycees Sand Box Drive. He also enjoyed his passion, flying, for many years. Ron will always be remembered for his generous heart, and his wonderful stories and jokes. He will be greatly missed. Ron is survived by his wife of 45 years Donna (nee Bargholz) Lungren. His brother Robert (Judy) Lungren of McHenry, sisters Pam (Edward) Davies of Cary, Cindy (Ken) Sobczak of Marengo, Gail Rust of Schaumburg, and Angela Recklein of Woodstock. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews. Dwane (Michelle), Derek, Sheri Lungren, Edward, Jr. ( Ali) Davies, Dawn Wiginton, Jessica (Ken) Wilson, Dave (Kelli) Davies, Kenny Sobczak, Dylan Rust, Jeremy (Katie) and Jennifer Recklein. Great nieces and nephews, Derek, Jr., Christopher, Amanda Lungren, Michaela and Olivia Davies, Mia and Max Wiginton. Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Mass on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Mary Catholic Church, Elgin. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Visitation will be held on Sunday in the Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee from 1:00 - 6:00 P.M. with a Rosary being recited at 5:30 P.M. and again on Monday morning at the church from 9:00 A.M. until time of Mass. The family requests omission of flowers. Donations in Ron's name can be made to St. Mary Church, Elgin, or to the Anderson Animal Shelter.
