Obituary Condolences

Violet Veronica Baker of Elgin Violet Veronica Baker, 97, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center of Elgin. She was born December 17, 1916 in Chicago, the daughter of Gust and Carmilie (nee Gennaro) Intogna. She was united in marriage to James Baker. Violet attended Northwestern University. She worked as a copywriter for the Montgomery Ward Catalog. After her retirement, Violet worked for several years as a hostess at Paul's Family Restaurant in Elgin. In her free time she enjoyed traveling, playing golf and tennis. She is survived by a niece. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James in 1983; a daughter, Patricia Baker in 2007; and her siblings, Joseph Intogna, George Intogna, Bernard Intogna, and Rose Intogna. A memorial service will be held at 3 P.M. Monday, July 1, 2013 at Moss-Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third St. (three blocks west of the Fox River, one block south of Route 64), St. Charles. Visitation will be held from 2 P.M. until the hour of service. Private interment will be held in Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace.
