VIRGINIA J. MUIR Obituary
Virginia J. Muir Virginia J. Muir, 91, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, IL, died at home on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was born May 10, 1921, in Swaledale, Iowa, to Louis and Alice Jenkins. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas W. Muir in 2001. She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Margaret (Jerry) Webb, Mary (John) Peluso, Douglas W. (Sheryl) Muir Jr., Ruth (Peter) Napolitano and Ellie (John) Addleman. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Daniel Newitt, Christopher (Katie) Newitt, John Muir, James Muir, Larry (Vicki) Napolitano, Dominick (Heather) Napolitano, Katelyn Napolitano, Sarah Napolitano, John Addleman and Douglas Addleman; and four great-grandchildren, Casey Newitt, Lexiana Napolitano, Hunter Napolitano and Daxton Napolitano. Virginia was a member of College Church of Wheaton since 1938. She graduated from Wheaton College in 1944 with a bachelor's degree in literature and education. In 1945, she married Douglas W. Muir. In 1988, Virginia retired from the editorial staff of Tyndale House Publishers, Inc. of Carol Stream, IL, where she had served for 25 years. She held positions as senior book editor, managing editor, senior editor of the Bible division, and assistant editor-in-chief. In 1988, Virginia and Douglas moved to Windsor Park, a retirement community in Carol Stream, IL. Virginia was most happy when she was surrounded by her family. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 27, from 4 until 8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 29, at 10:30 a.m. at College Church, corner of Washington and Seminary, Wheaton, and at 3 p.m. at Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream. Interment will be held privately at Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace. Memorial gifts may be directed to College Church or the . Family and friends may sign a guest book at hultgrenfh.com.
