Obituary Condolences

William E. Gahlberg William E. Gahlberg, 82, died peacefully on Dec. 31, 2012, in St. Louis, MO. Bill was born in Dayton, OH on Aug. 30, 1930, grew up in Tucson, AZ and graduated from the University of Arizona. After serving in the Air Force, Bill and his wife, Ann, raised their family in Tubac, AZ before they moved to Chicago, where Bill was involved in the development of real estate in the Oak Brook and Bolingbrook communities. Bill is survived by his wife, Ursula Ann Gahlberg (nee McGreevy), whom he married on Dec. 29, 1955. Bill is also survived by his two daughters, Elizabeth (Bill) Gladney and Susan (Mark) Hearne; his grandchildren, Kiley Talbott, Kate Stacy, Anna Gnau, Amelia Hearne and Elise Hearne; and his great-grandchildren, Anna Kathryn Talbott, Charlotte Talbott and Gus Gnau. Bill was recognized for his success in business and his generous contributions to the community. But what mattered most to Bill was the faith he had in Christ his Savior and the blessing of a rich and full life shared with a family he deeply loved and friends he cherished. A memorial service in celebration of Bill's life will be held Friday, Jan. 11, at 11 a.m. The service will be at Christ Church of Oak Brook, 501 Oak Brook Road, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests those wishing to make a memorial contribution to donate to the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 119 N.
