JAMES W. ARNOTT Sr. Obituary
CARPENTERSVILLE - James W. Arnott Sr., 87, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elgin. He was born in Chicago to James B. and Margaret (nee Brennan); the oldest of eight children. He married Josephine Haas on May 26, 1951 after they met working at the Brach's Candy Company in Chicago. Jim was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Carpentersville for the past 56 years. He had worked for Jewel Food Stores for 26 years prior to his retirement and also had worked for many years at Haeger Potteries. He was a WWII Navy veteran. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Josephine; his children Susan (Jeffrey) Green, James Jr. (Cass) Arnott, Linda (Karl) Vietinghoff, Pamela (Joseph) Lascio and Christopher. He is also survived by his siblings Robert (Alice) Arnott, Walter (Mary) Arnott, Nancy (the late William) Sholdice, Marguerite (Joseph) Malenk and John (Ellen) Arnott; his grandchildren, Jamie (Robert) Grant, Jacob (Erika) Green, Karla Vietinghoff and Joseph Vietinghoff; his great-grandchildren, Jeslyn Grant, Martin Grant, Kaitlyn Green and Wyatt Green; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, William Arnott and Lucille Pausteck. Visitation will held on Friday from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee. Funeral services will begin with prayers at the funeral home at 8:45am on Saturday before a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at St. Monica Catholic Church, Carpentersville. Followed by internment at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Monica's Catholic Church or the .
