1944 - 2014 | Obituary Condolences
Cheryl Virginia Rigert, our kind, loving wife, mother and "Nana" passed away peacefully March 17, 2014. She was born April 6, 1944 to Capt. Robert Bloxsom and M. Virginia (Landon) Bloxsom in Camden, NJ. She married George W. Rigert on January 4, 1965 in Moorestown, NJ, later solemnized in the Washington D.C. Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Cherie loved life, the gospel of Jesus Christ, the outdoors, quilting, chocolate and spending time with friends and family. She also enjoyed rewarding careers, first as a stewardess for United Air Lines, later as a registered nurse at Victory and Condell hospitals, as well as the Lake County Health Department, and finally at The Villages of Victory. Her mother and father preceded her in death. Cherie is survived by her husband, George W. Rigert; children Kim, Michael (Karla) and Christopher (Tammy); and her grandchildren, Nadia, Melissa, Piper, Ian, Sophie and Camden. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM on Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Strang Funeral Home of Antioch, 1055 Main St. (Route 83), Antioch, IL 60002. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 10 AM at the Lake Villa chapel of the LDS Church, 315 McKinley Avenue in Lake Villa. Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery in Salt Lake City, Utah.
