1923 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
LONG LAKE - Lorraine Ringa, 90, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014. She was born in Chicago on June 24, 1923, the daughter of the late William and Emelia Kleczewski (Klee). Lorraine grew up in Chicago where she worked in the family bakery. She was a resident of Lake Villa since 1958 where she worked with her husband in the family funeral home. Lorraine later retired to Long Lake where her family has had a home since 1925. She was a member of Prince of Peace Church and the Long Lake Yacht Club where she was a dedicated member of the Tuesday Tillies Ladies Group. Lorraine, affectionately known as Squibb, enjoyed fishing, practical jokes, sunsets, traveling, playing accordion, and gardening. She will be remembered for her resourcefulness, her collections of bottle openers and hats, and her fierce independence. She is survived by her son Robert (Robyn) Ringa, Jr.; grandchildren Robert "RJ" (Megan McCurry) Ringa III and Andrew (Colleen) Ringa; and great-grandchildren Maceo Ringa and Lincoln Ringa. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Ringa, Sr., daughter Janet Dwyer, and sister Mae Triggs. A visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Ringa Funeral Home, 122 S. Milwaukee Ave. (Route 83), Lake Villa, IL 60046. Prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 24, 2014 at the funeral home, followed by a procession to Prince of Peace Church for a 10 a.m. Mass.
