GERALD T. "JERRY" KIRMSE Obituary
OLD CARPENTERSVILLE - Gerald T. "Jerry" Kirmse, age 80, passed away on Tuesday morning at the Tower Hill Healthcare Center in South Elgin. Jerry was born on October 5, 1933 in Elgin, the son of the late Edward W. & Madolyn (nee Dwyer) Kirmse. Jerry was a lifelong resident of the area, as well as a life long member and former many year Usher at St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Dundee. For many years, Jerry was a very active member of the Dundee Jaycees and a many year supporter of the Soap Box Derby. He was a former 50 year employee of Elgin Industries. Survivors include his sisters: Katherine (the late Thomas) McEnerney, Janice (John) White and Helen (the late William) Menke. Jerry is also survived by his sister-in-law: Mary Ann Kirmse and many nieces, nephews, grand and great-nieces and nephews and many friends. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brothers: John "Jack," Edward A. "Babe" and Phillip Kirmse, his sister: Mary Dougherty. Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Mass on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at the St. Catherine of Siena Church, West Dundee. Burial will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery, Gilberts. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the Mass.
