Gregory M. Ford, age 55, born April 2, 1959 in Owosso, MI to George V. and Betty L. Ford, went home to Jesus on Friday, June 20, 2014 after battling cancer for 15 years. Greg grew up in Decatur, IL and was a long time resident of Wheaton. He graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in 1981 and married Rhonda Kay Smith October 7, 1984. His 25-year career in the real estate industry included being a member of National Association of Homebuilders, Homebuilders Association of Greater Chicago, and past President of the Sales and Marketing Council. The last five years of his career were spent as the Director of Consumer Products with SIRVA Worldwide Relocation & Moving. He was a beloved member of Wheaton Bible Church, and could be found leading men's groups, small groups, and Financial Peace University. Greg blessed many through song, by using his God-given voice to glorify the Lord. Greg enjoyed working in the yard, rehabbing homes, learning about the lives of everyone he met, and vacations with family. Whether it was loving his beautiful wife, Rhonda, or raising his three kids--Kindra, Kyle (Shannon) and Tyler, he did everything with purpose and intention. He believed his greatest success in life was to see his children living their lives for Jesus Christ. Greg's courage, determination and perseverance were pivotal through many health challenges and in his profession. Greg lovingly invested time and energy in others, so that they could see their own potential and worth. He mentored many young men, encouraging them in their walk with Christ and their growth into strong Christian men. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda; his children, Kindra, Kyle (Shannon) and Tyler; his granddaughter, Lucy, who will be born this fall; his mother, Betty L. Ford; his brother, Kirk (Sheryl) Ford; and niece, Lily. He was preceded in death by his father, George V. Ford. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24 from 4-8 p.m. at Wheaton Bible Church, 27W500 North Ave., in West Chicago, IL, where a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 25, at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to CaringBridge, Donation Processing Center, PO Box 6032, Albert Lea, MN 56007-6632; or to the , 1801 Meyers Road, Suite 100, Oak Brook Terrace, IL 60181.
