ST. CHARLES - Jean Arenberg, 88, of The Greenfields of Geneva, formerly of St. Charles, passed away July 4, 2014. She was born to Raymond and Beulah "nee" Whereatt Young on December 26, 1925. She was raised in Edison Park, and graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Physical Education. She met her future husband Ted while at the university in 1946 and was married for 66 wonderful years. Jean was a volunteer at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital for over 30 years. Her greatest joy came from raising her 6 children, and being a grandma to 8 grand-children. She is survived by her husband Ted, children, Bo (William Foote) Young, of Granville, NY, Thomas (Diane) Arenberg, of Santa Fe, NM, Mary M.D. (George Schroeder M.D.) Arenberg, of Plymouth, WI, James (Kim) Arenberg, of Farmington, MN, Michael Arenberg, of St. Charles, IL, Douglas M.D. (Karen Chapel M.D.) Arenberg, of Northville, MI, grandchildren, Liz (Nick Metcalf), Molly, Sally, Carl, Emma, Nick, Clark, and Brett. She was preceded in death by her parents, half-sister and half-brothers, Mary Young, Ray Young, and Allan Young. A Memorial Visitation will be held 9 to 11 A.M. Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Baker Memorial United Methodist Church, 307 Cedar Avenue, St. Charles, IL 60174, followed by a Memorial Service at 11 A.M. Burial will be private.
