1933 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
ELGIN - Rosalie Romano, 81, passed away on the morning of July 10, 2014 while surrounded by loved ones. She was born on July 5, 1933, in Chicago, IL. Rosalie married the late Robert James Haarstick, and was widowed after 25 years of marriage. While participating in a bereavement support group she met and married the late Phil Romano with whom she spent a wonderful 17 years. Rosalie enjoyed selling candy at Fannie May for many years. She then spent 18 years assisting in her daughter's childcare center. She was very passionate about cooking and always had a delicious dish for her family. She loved deep sea fishing, dancing, and singing and greeted everyone that was lucky enough to meet her with a kind word and a jolly smile. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann Richeson and son-in-law, George Richeson; grandchildren, Amber Morgan, Brandon Young and Taylor Toelkes. Rosalie is also survived by four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 9:00 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. Saturday July 12, at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main Street, St. Charles. Funeral Mass will be at 11 A.M. Saturday July 12th, at St. Patrick Church, 400 Cedar Street, St. Charles. Burial will be private.
