1934 - 2014 Obituary Condolences Gallery
SCHAUMBURG - Gerald Joseph Struck, 79, of Schaumburg, passed away August 13 at Friendship Village in Schaumburg. He was born October 11, 1934 in Chicago to Joseph and Frances (Hintz) Struck. Gerald was a graduate of Lane Tech High School and went on to receive a Bachelor of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He was a registered architect who worked for the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago for 13 years and for High School District 214 in Arlington Heights, Illinois for seven years. He was also a licensed real estate sales person and was President of G.J.S. Consulting, Inc. In his free time, he enjoyed world travel, playing the accordion, and collecting stamps and coins. He was a member of Lane Tech Alumni Association, Illinois Retired Teachers Association, and Elgin Area Retired Teachers' Association. He is survived by his son, Richard (Lynda); grandson Eric; brother, Daniel (Mary Jane); sisters, Marianne Wallace and Carol (Gary) Feiock; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 31 years; Judy Ellen (Archer), who passed away in 2003. A visitation will take place on Saturday, August 16 from 2:00- 4:00 PM in the Laird Funeral Home located at 310 S. State St, Elgin with a prayer service at 3:30 PM conducted by Rev. Joseph F. Kulak.
