Darryl C. Didier of Lincolnshire A Mass of Christian Burial for Darryl C. Didier, 41, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Deerfield, with a visitation for one hour prior to the Mass at church. Interment will follow in Ascension Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home Ltd., 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.), Libertyville. Born April 29, 1966, in Milwaukee, he passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, at his home. Mr. Didier had lived in Lincolnshire for the past 39 years. He was a member of Holy Cross Parish in Deerfield and also had taught CCD to the second grade students. Darryl was a former stockbroker for Merrill Lynch and found out he had cancer 17 years ago. As a cancer survivor he decided to write a book to share his story that was called "Force A Miracle." He became a motivational speaker after his story was told and would often speak at high schools and even prisons. Most recently, he decided to help children affected by the disease and just finished a new book called "Sammy Hits a Home Run." Surviving are his mother, Jean Didier of Lincolnshire; sister, Brenda Didier and her husband Michael Seiler of Kenosha, Wis.; and his dearest friend, Chris Larson. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Didier in 2001. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or American Brain Tumor Association.
