RICHARD PARKER Obituary

Richard P. Parker formerly of Elgin Funeral services for Richard P. Parker, 75, of East Dundee, will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, April 30, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St. (Route 31), Elgin, where visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the services. Rev. Mark Weinert will officiate. Born April 13, 1935, in Elgin, the son of Paul and Eleanor Wilke Parker, he passed away Monday, April 26, 2010, at Sherman West Court, Elgin. He was a graduate of Elgin High School in 1953. He had been a resident of Elgin most of his life before moving to East Dundee in 2000. He had been employed by IBC as a route salesman and supervisor for 30 years before retiring. He was a veteran, serving in the Navy. Surviving are his wife, Bobbie Taylor Parker, whom he married on Jan. 30, 1971; two children, George Parker and Pamela McManaman; two stepchildren, Marsha Flannigan and Robin (Rhonda) Flannigan; three grandchildren, Brandon Parker, Anthony Higareda and Taylor Flannigan; and one brother, Robert Parker of Hawaii. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Greg Parker; stepson, James Flannigan; and a sister, Patricia Gillespie. Memorials may be given to First Christian Church, Elgin. Dear Bobbie, I was schocked to read of Dick's passing. We grew up together in Elgin and I can remember many of the good times we had together. It was always great to see and talk with both of you at the class reunions. Dick will be missed by all of us who knew him.

Dick really enjoyed living here at Village Green, he was involved in a lot of activites and also served on the Board and different teams, he will be greatly missed by all
