I still think of Joe. I think of all the jokes and his humor. I was telling someone the other day as I had a decision to make, that my friend Joe would laugh at me and say" Sharon always has to have options" and he thought that quite funny and kidded me about that for years.

As the years have passed, my thoughts often return to the many wonderful moments Bob and I spent with Joe and Rita. While Bob no longer can recall the past, I do speak of Joe to Bob often. Bob will laugh and his face light up as I mention "the Pigg" as Joe would refer to himself. So, perhaps after all, Bob does remember Joe

As the anniversary of Joe's death approaches, it brings to mind the many laughs we had together. Joe was a religious, devoted and hard working person but also one of the funniest men we knew. As I think back to the many memories that swirl around in my head, I laugh out loud when I remember the hesitancy he had to travel very far from Schaumburg, Il. Rita finally convinced him to take a Asian vacation and along the way stop and visit friends Bob and Sharon who lived in Thailand while in the Peace Corps. We had a guest bed adjacent to a window which looked out over the metal roofs of market shops. Early in the morning, two of the local feral cats that roamed about, decided to fight right beneath Joe's window and he nearly jumped out of his skin not to mention flew out of the bed, thinking that some huge gigantic creature had come to attack. We all laughed for months.

Joe was always a lot of fun. I would only see him when he brought a plane down from the hanger to the terminal and while he was waiting for a ride back. We often talked about Arizona and how nice it was just to be there. I am going to miss Joe but he will forever be in my memory.

I have been to many wakes in my lifetime. Family, friends, and others who I may have never met, but out of respect for their loved ones I attended. In attending my Uncles wake I experienced feelings I had never felt before, for even though he lay there, having passed on to the next life, I still felt his presence and his great wit and charm present in the room. He was a man, regardless of how long you may have known him, let it be minutes as a once introduced acquaintance, or for a lifetime as in my case, a man who made you feel welcome, a man who made you feel happy, a man who would light up the room just by being present. I, for as long as I shall live, will always remember my Uncle Joe and will always carry a part of him with me. Some say my sense of humor mimicks his and I take that as the utmost of compliments. My dear Uncle, although I am sorry to see you go, the memory of you will never be forgotten. I end by saying Rest In Peace, but somehow, I have to believe, that somewhere in a better place far far away, you are already busy, joking, smiling, and just being the best that you always strived to be. God Bless you and thank God for you sharing a part of my life.

I can still remember you and I on top of a 727 wing in the old hanger.. Thanks for being a part of my like. I'll be using things I learned from you for the rest of my life.. You and Vick Kaspersky, John Isbister, Bill Wallase, Ed Quick, what a life I've had working with the likes of you guys. Every once and a while I can close my eyes and go back to that time in my mind and once again see you looking at 1338's and inspecting our work. You will surly have a seat at the right hand side of our Lord and savure
Jusus Christ. Bless your family and live on in heaven.

Joe was a good person to work with and so proud of his family. I remember helping him out to pick out a pair of earring jackets that he wanted to buy you for your birthday or anniversary. He always had a great smile. I'm sorry for your lost, the world has lost a good man, know that he has a special place in heaven.
