RAYMOND J. BISCHOFFER Obituary
Raymond J. Bischoffer of Arlington Heights Raymond J. Bischoffer was born Oct. 22, 1921, in Chicago, to Raymond J. and Gertrude (nee Rheingruber) Bischoffer. He died on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at The Claremont Rehab and Living Center in Buffalo Grove. Mr. Bischoffer enjoyed drawing, specifically making cartoons, and during Word War II he used his artistic talents to aid in the war effort. He was a loving husband and father that gave generously of his time. He is survived by his children, Thomas (Darlene) Bischoffer of Huntley, Muriel Ann (Richard) Wilson of Ten Mile, Tenn., Mary (Carl) Jewell of Fox Lake and Tim Bischoffer of San Diego, Calif.; his nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; his siblings, Sally (Eugene) Janczak and Francis "Bud" Bischoffer; and his many nieces and nephews. Raymond was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Muriel D. (nee Goebel) Bischoffer, whom he married Oct. 24, 1942; his parents; his grandson, Kevin; and his brother, Louis (Virginia) Bischoffer. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until time of prayers at 12:15 p.m. Friday, April 8, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, going to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, for Mass at 1 p.m. Interment is in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to AMVETS, Disabled American Veterans, Wounded Warriors, or the St. James Church Building Fund.
