Obituary Condolences

George James Kman Jr. of Arlington Heights George J. Kman Jr. was born Feb. 23, 1927, in Chicago, to George James Sr. and Lucille A. (nee Rutsay) Kman. He died on Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at the Lutheran Home and Services in Arlington Heights. Mr. Kman served in the Navy during World War II and worked as a supervisory computer systems analyst for the U.S. Railroad Retirement Board for 35 years until his retirement. He was an avid golfer and bowler, and enjoyed bingo and card games with his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Anita Kman (nee Aster), whom he married Sept. 20, 1952, in Chicago; his children, George J. Kman III, David (Anne) Kman, Georgiann (Ron) O'Bryan, Susan (David) Scheen, Diane (Alan) Lubow, Gary Kman, Karen Van Heirseele and Kathy (Michael) Pierce; his grandchildren, Jimmy Kman, Michael, Christine and Adam Kman, Cory and Aaron O'Bryan, Matthew and Brian Scheen, James and Jonathon Lubow, Andrew and Jillian Kman, Ryan and Jessica Van Heirseele, Brianna Glover and Anthony Pierce; and his seven great-grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his parents. Services and interment were held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the of Greater Chicago, 8430 W.
