Robert Frederick "Bob" Schroeder Sr. Robert Frederick "Bob" Schroeder Sr., 93, of Arlington Heights, from complications of Lewy Body disease, on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012. He was the beloved and loving husband for 69 years to the late Evelyn Ann Schroeder (nee Reiter); deeply caring and supportive father of Robert Frederick Jr. (Elaine) of Juneau, Alaska, Bradley Alan (Ginger) of Arlington Heights, Marybeth (Charles Vernon) Schroeder of Evanston and John William (Catherine) of Saratoga, Calif,; stupendous grandfather of Vu (MyLe), Nathan and Eve Schroeder, Jennifer (David) Glatt, Douglas Schroeder, Theodore (Sok Nak), Elliot and Gregory Vernon, and Tamara and Anna Schroeder; proud great-grandfather of Robbie, Erik and Katelyn Schroeder, Lily and Isabella Vernon and Alana Nguyen; and a caring uncle and friend to many. Born in Chicago's Bowmanville neighborhood to the late Ernest and Margaret Schroeder, Bob had a successful career in property management and mortgage banking, retiring from Bell Federal Savings & Loan after many years in 1982. Bob served in the Army Corps of Engineers from 1943 to 1945, building the Ledo Road in India. A strong and vital person, Bob enjoyed many travels with family and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Lutheran Home, 800 W.
