Obituary Condolences

Dorothy M. Serafin of Arlington Heights Dorothy M. Serafin, formerly of Des Plaines, was born on May 29, 1925, in Chicago, to Matthew and Marie (nee Zonca) Warchol. She passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012, in Chicago. Dorothy lived at the Moorings in Arlington Heights for the past eight years where she was a friend to many. She enjoyed playing cards, working jigsaw puzzles, and travelling the world with friends and family. Through her strong Catholic faith Dorothy overcame many challenges and remained an inspiration to others by being active in spite of a serious car accident 25 years ago. Dorothy is survived by her children, Mary Lou Watts, Mark Serafin, Barbara (Ronald) Long and Jacklyn Serafin; her grandsons, Jeremy Watts, Brian Long and Alex Long; her brother, Louis (Winnie) Warchol; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bernard (Helen) Warchol and Raymond (the late Margaret) Warchol; and her former husband, Julius Serafin. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 27, at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights and from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights.
