Joseph A. Plucinski of Mundelein Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph A. Plucinski, 84, is at 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Mary of the Annunciation Church (Small Church), 22333 West Erhart Road, Mundelein. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, at the Kristan Funeral Home, P.C., 219 West Maple Ave. (two blocks west of Route 45 on Route 176), Mundelein. Joe was born May 22, 1928, in Chicago, to Casimir and Arma (nee Kotarski) Plucinski and died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines after complications from Lung Cancer Surgery. He served our country from 1946 to 1948 in the Marine Corps and was a member of the Army National Guard from 1952 to 1954. Joe and his wife, Nola, moved to Diamond Lake (Mundelein) in 1958. He was retired from Illinois Bell Telephone and the Lake County Forest Preserve. Joe was a member of IBEW for over 50 years, a life member 4th Degree Bishop's Quarter Assembly # 0197, a member of the Knights of Columbus Cardinal Stritch Mundelein # 13267, a member of the American Legion Post #867 of Mundelein and a Minister of Care at St. Mary's of the Annunciation Church, Fremont Center. He is survived by his wife, Nola (nee Gentilini); children, Dawn (Dave) Briggs, David (Sharon) Plucinski, Michael (Mary) Plucinski and Joseph (Lisa) Plucinski; grandchildren, Steven (Casey), Mary (Steve Friend), Melissa Maddock, Stacy (Aaron) Obispo, Beth, Becky, Anthony, Frank, Casimir and Sylvia; four great-grandchildren; his brother, Richard (Nola) Platt; and his sister, Irene (Robert) Vollendorf.
