Obituary Condolences

Katherine Jean "Kathy" Dozier Katherine Jean "Kathy" Dozier (nee LaRue), 44, the wife of Ron Dozier and mother of Mason LaRue Kamp, passed away on Oct. 5, 2012, following a brave battle with melanoma cancer. With the help of her husband and a dedicated staff, Kathy created "Chasin' Our Tails," a doggie daycare in Cary. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth "Betty" LaRue; brother, Rick LaRue; and sister, Sharen Thurow. She is survived by husband and son; her father and stepmother, Dick and Carol LaRue, formerly of Elgin, currently of Sun City in Huntley; her twin sister, Karen A. Tellez and her husband, Arnulfo of Chicago; and her brothers, Michael J. La Rue of New York City and Ken L. LaRue and his wife. Carrie of Naperville. Kathy was passionate about animals and sports - particularly baseball - and when not playing herself, was a constant, outspoken presence on the sidelines of her son Mason's sporting events. In June, Kathy insisted on being released from the hospital to accompany Mason's baseball team for a week of tournaments in Cooperstown, NY. During the competition, Mason hit a grand slam for his sick mother, a feat which made National news and instantly promoted Kathy to the position of "Proudest Mother in the World." Memorial visitation will be at Wait-Ross-Allanson Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel, 201 S. Main St. (Route 31), Algonquin, Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 4 until 8 p.m. Burial for family only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mason LaRue Kamp's education fund by contacting any Chase Bank. For information, 847-658-4232 or visit www.lairdfamilyfuneralservices.com.
