Obituary Condolences

Marcia J. Nilsen of Hampshire Marcia J. Nilsen, 77, passed away Monday evening, Oct. 29, 2012, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. She was born Oct. 22, 1935, in Chicago, the daughter of Charles and Cecelia (nee Kucik) Majewski. She was a 1953 graduate of Foreman High School. Marcia married Arne K. Nilsen on Nov. 23, 1957, at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Chicago. They were residents of Des Plaines before making their home in Hampshire in 1969. Marcia was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Hampshire and helped decorate the church on many special occasions. She was also a member of the Hampshire Garden Club. She loved gardening, quilting and crafting, and was extremely artistic. Most of all, she was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother, and will be missed by all. Surviving are her husband, Arne; children, Martin (Stacy) Nilsen and Curt (Kris) Nilsen, both of Hampshre, and Suzanne (Bartley) Gannon of Cary and Karen Nilsen of Hampshire; four grandchildren, Allyson, Kelly, Mackenzie and Vincent; four brothers, twins, Ronald and Robert Majewski of South Elgin, Charles (Rose Mary) Majewski of Crystal Lake, and John "Jack" (Sandra) Majewski of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon Saturday, Nov. 10, at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 297 E. Jefferson St., Hampshire, with Fr. Sylvester Nnaso officiating. Memorial visitation wll be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 12 noon on Saturday, Nov. 10. Private burial will take place in Hampshire Center Cemetery. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the Burlington-Hampshire Food Pantry, P.O.
