Obituary Condolences

George Burton "Bo" Close Jr. of Antioch George Burton "Bo" Close Jr., 64, passed away at home Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, surrounded by his family. He was born in St. Louis, MO in 1948, to the late George and Marjorie (nee Chapman) Close. He lived in Webster Groves, MO and St. Charles, IL, before moving to Antioch in 1988. Bo graduated from William Borroughs School and continued on to receive a BA in economics from Westminster College, where he was an active participant in the ROTC and a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Bo served proudly as a second lieutenant in the United States Army. Bo continued his education at Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management before entering a long career in sales and marketing. Bo's most recent professional role was as COO/Partner of Bandana Bandito LLC and CEO of Stonetree Marketing. Bo enjoyed the outdoors in all weather; and was an avid fisherman, golfer, camper and woodworker. He loved spending time with his family and close friends and especially his grandchildren. He was the greatest fan when attending his grandchildren's many sporting events and felt his favorite job was being "Poppa" to his 14 grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time at his family's farm in upstate New York. Bo is survived by his beloved wife, Judy; daughters, Katherine Close Goldman (Dan), Carolyn Close McKenzie-Bush (Joe), Christopher Roberts, Jennifer Everett (Robert), Mark Roberts (Jaime) and Tony Roberts (Samantha); and grandchildren, Connor, Margaret, Darcy, Gavin, Samantha, Mitchell, Jillian, Megan (Bryan), Alexandria, Jackson, Owen, Clark, Jack and Ariana. Bo is also survived by his sister, Catherine Close Deslo (Paul) and twin sister, Marjorie Close; and nephews, Daniel Hapke (Maria) and Kevin Hapke. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Strang Funeral Home of Antioch, 1055 Main St. (Route 83), Antioch, IL. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m., with Fr.
