Daniel F. Gudgeon of Gurnee Daniel F. Gudgeon, 76, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, in Libertyville. He was born March 11, 1936, in Chicago, and had been a Lake County resident for the past 70 years. Mr. Gudgeon was a career salesman and had served six years in the Army Reserves. Daniel attended the University of Illinois on a Chick Evans Golf Scholarship. He was past president of the Lake County Board of Realtors, past president of MAP multiple listing services, pas president and charter member of the Lake Zurich Jaycees, and was the former owner of the D.F. Gudgeon Realty Company of Lake Zurich. Mr Gudgeon had been an agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and had retired from Federal Express. He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Gail (nee McCloud). He was the loving father of Daniel Jr. (Laurel) Gudgeon, Jeannene (Tom) Jenks, Colleen (Neal) Nicholas, and Eileen (Simon) Randle; and the proud grandfather of Daniel, David and Sarah Gudgeon, Olivia and Ian Jenks, Tyler and Ethan Nicholas, Matthew and Andrew Rodiek, and Annika Randle. He was preceded in death by his dear brother, Jerome (Leda); and his beloved parents, Francis and Eugenia. A memorial funeral Mass will be offered at 6:30 p.m. Friday evening, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6401 Gages Lake Road, Gurnee. Entombment will be in Ascension Mausoleum, Libertyville.
