Obituary Condolences

Anne Elizabeth "Liz" Siebeck of Elgin Anne Elizabeth "Liz" Siebeck, 66, passed away peacefully Jan. 10, 2013, at Pepper Family Hospice in Barrington. Her parents, Norman and Betty Parker, predeceased her as did her former husband, Keith Siebeck. She is survived by her son, Jesse (Jessica) Siebeck; her brother, William S. Parker (Beth) of West Point, Miss.; her sister, Susan (James) Morrison of Hendersonville, N.C.; her nephew, Vincent Parker (Darcie) of Denver, Colo.; her niece, Caroline K. Gedney (Bart) of Wilton, Conn.; her former husband, Charles Hellwege of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and many caring friends and grateful students. A graduate of Bradley University, Liz earned an M.A. in French at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She also spent two years at the University of Grenoble in France. Though she taught in Pattonville, Mo., and worked as a travel agent. Most of her career was spent teaching French and Spanish in District 300 schools. She also escorted students to Mexico for further enrichment. After retirement, she taught both languages part time at St. Edwards High School in Elgin and classes in French culture at Elgin Community College. Liz was also active in Elgin Area AAUW and Fox Valley Citizens for Peace and Justice. A visitation for Liz will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral and Cremation Services, located at 51 Center St Elgin, and will be followed by a remembrance service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Doctors Without Borders, Planned Parenthood or The American Indian College Fund.
